Coronavirus: Omicron lockdown not required for the time being, Biden says
US President Joe Biden has called the Omicron Covid-19 variation a "cause for concern, not a reason for alarm" a day after it was identified in North America. He said he saw no requirement for another lockdown "for the time being... assuming individuals are inoculated and wear their covers". Cases have been found in Canada, and the US has forced travel restrictions on eight southern African nations.
